The amazing donation on behalf of Damien Cook helps support the 800 sick kids and families that stay at Ronald McDonald House in Randwick each year

Last year’s Sports Dad of the Year winner Damien Cook (pictured here at this years Walk Me Home event) donated a whopping $10,000 to Ronald McDonald House Charities Sydney.  This week we caught up with Rod Novotny who heads up the charities fundraising and marketing initiatives to see where the money went and how you can help.

“The donation from Damien Cook winning last years Sports Dad of the Year helped support sick kids and families stay at the House. After long days at the hospital and going through such a difficult time in heir lives, donations such as Damien’s help families stay in the House for free, it also helps us ensure families are given a home cooked meal, access to our learning program to ensure sick kids and their siblings are not falling behind school and most importantly, reducing the financial stress these families have to endure during this period” said Rob.

Damien went onto say, “As an ambassador for Ronald McDonald house it makes me really happy to raise some much needed funds for the families and the house itself”.

Donations help us continue supporting families every day of the year and you too can help
